It’s official - I’m a `flogger’

Posted in Entertainment at by bigmouth

Has anyone seen the Australian article about a B-grade celebrity trying to revive her career by reviewing the opening night of new eateries? [I’m hunting down a link which I’ll add shortly. Currently the site is displaying the previous week’s column for the “Food Detective”]. [Added 20 Feb: here is the link]
Apparently Bigmouth and others can now be termed as “floggers” (food bloggers).

This perhaps comes as no real surprise to friends and the long suffering CB who have always suspected this term applied to Bigmouth.

But on the strength of news report, we are tempted to mark the occasion by getting business cards printed that bear this new found monicker. (It stands to reason. All the floggers known to us are wielding business cards ;-) ). CB who is endlessly embarrassed when a camera and notepad are produced at meal time, will no doubt be doubly impressed at the though of leaving our card beside the tip as our departing gesture.
We welcome suggestions from nook-cohorts as to appropriate wording. Can you improve on the following?

I always thought ‘Floggers’ was the term for people who freely engage in discussion in blog entries comments but don’t actually blog themselves.

I’ve seen comments on Ed Charles’ blog about food bloggers uniting and even having their own festivals. Check it out at www.tomatom.com.

It sounds like I should be whipping people rather than eggs or cream lol
